Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — never in plain text).
- Usage data: We collect information about how you use our service, including searches performed, prospects viewed, and features accessed.
- Prospect scan data: When you scan for prospects, we retrieve publicly available business information from sources including Google Maps, business websites, and public directories. This is public information — we do not access any private business data.
- Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details on our servers.
- Communications: If you contact us by email, we retain those communications to help us respond.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Sightline service
- To generate prospect scores, audit reports, and AI pitch documents on your behalf
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send service-related communications (account changes, billing, security alerts)
- To respond to your support requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Sightline:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Google APIs — we use publicly available Google Maps and Places data to retrieve business information during prospect scans. We do not access your Google account unless you explicitly connect it.
- Render — cloud hosting for our application servers and database.
- OpenAI — AI pitch document generation. Prospect data submitted for pitch generation is processed under OpenAI's API data usage policies.
Data Retention
We retain your account data and prospect scan history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format

Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
